OBP 7/16″ UNF Bias Bar with Tube

A bias bar is a must have when competing for the top of the podium. It’s a small but yet crucial component that can effectively control your ratio of braking. This part works by directing the force applied to the brake pedal and then distributes it towards the front and rear master cylinders. The key part about a bias bar (often called balance bar) is the central bearing that allows you to adjust the bias bar position in the pedal to enable you either put more pressure on the front brakes or the rear.

If the bias bar spherical bearing is centralised in the pedal, it will exert equal pressure across both cylinders. However, if you simply rotate the bias bar it moves the spherical bearing enabling an increased pressure to the front or brake cylinders. It is important to note that each master cylinder will start to build pressure at the same time, no matter if a push rod is shorter than the other.

It is very important that the bias bar is also set up correctly. For help on this, see the set up guide in the ‘Technical Drawings’ Section to the side of this page. You will also see a dimensional drawing for both the bias bar and tube sleeve.
